A very melodic build up, a perfectly timed, short break-down, ca swirl of melody-lines – this is ‘Effectual’! While the ‘Original Mix’ presents the finest in uplifting trance, progressive trance fans will be more than pleased with what can be found on the remix. The ‘Deep Voices Mix’, with its tough baseline and its longer, still very melodic break-down, is a more progressive-like translation of ‘Effectual’.

A diversion from the standard cheesy trance vocals so many favour, Jan Burton’s searching, tones feature on tracks like the bubbling groover ‘Slow To Learn’, the emotional rollercoaster of ‘Mercy’ and the edgy title track ‘Empire’. Julie Thompson graces the blissful, gentle prog-trance of ‘My Enemy’, Alyna is on the swooning St. Etienne-styled electronic-pop of ‘Perfect Day’ and Betsie Larkin appears on the upbeat ‘Good Times’.

For fans of Super8 & Tab’s instrumental trance there is still plenty to savour. Following the epic sold out Podcast 100 event at the world’s no.1 club Sankeys, Gareth Emery and Garuda join forces with Digital Society for an arena show to mark the launch of his debut artist album ‘Northern Lights’ at the stunning O2 Academy in Leeds.

In the first performance of its kind by a UK trance artist, GE will be celebrating the release of Northern Lights (23rd Sep) by kicking off his worldwide album tour in Leeds with a one-off  concert style event, featuring a four hour DJ and live set, with vocal performances and instrumental interludes seamlessly integrated into Gareth’s longest ever performance in Europe.

The first remix in this series came out back in June. Dutch rising stars W&W teamed up with Swedish talent Jonas Stenberg and gave Svenson & Gielen’s first ever single ‘The Beauty Of Silence’ a 2010 treatment.
The second single ‘Twisted’ is out as of this week with a mighty remix by Jochen Miller. He dusted of the original and gave it some shiny 2010 polish. As Jochen said: “ It’s was great to do a remix of this classic. I wanted to keep the energy and vibe of the original alive, but at the same time make it more up-to-date. Ever since I started to test it in my sets, I had people asking me which mix it was. To me it shows how big the original was in the first place.”

Svenson & Gielen stormed the world in 2000 with the single ‘The Beauty Of Silence’, but it was their next single ‘Twisted’ who catapulted them into stardom. Many singles followed and one album ‘The Beauty Of Silence’, which is the only ever album to come from Svenson & Gielen.
